With the NBA season approaching an end a lot of questions remain unanswered… Who will be crowned the 2017 NBA champions? Will it be 3 time champion Lebron James and his side kicks Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love on the Cleveland Cavaliers? Or will it be the newly revised Golden State Warriors who now have four all stars in Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and last but not least Klay Thompson.

While there is more considerable competition arising, the Cavaliers and Warriors turned out to be the best fit: this is the third straight finals rematch of Golden State and Cleveland.  And while the Warriors won the first two games easily, don’t count of LeBron and the Cavs. This not only will go down in history as one of the best rivalries that the NBA has probably ever seen but believe it or not these two teams may just have more final appearances locked for the next two or three years.

But before we go any further,  let’s think abut who could possibly dethrone these offensive juggernauts in the years ahead.

In the Eastern Conference you have teams like The Washington Wizards who with the additions of Brandon Jennings from the New York Knicks as well as Bojan Bogdanovic alongside John Wall and Bradley Beal pose a potential threat towards the Cleveland Cavaliers. Currently the Washington Wizards are ranked 3rd seed only behind The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics who holds the first and second seed. No longer can we discredit Lebron James and claim that he has a lack of competition to his road to the finals given how the NBA has specifically increased in the maximizing of talent of teams as well as individual talent.

On the other hand, you have the Western Conference who to many have a far more challenging and imposing task of getting to the finals with teams who seem to have more super stars… It is not a coincidence at all that the most popular and polarizing athletes like Stephen Curry, James Harden, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard and more all come from the Western Conference. This of course, is also without mentioning that 3 out of those six named superstars in James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard all are in race for MVP this 2016-2017 NBA season. As a result, the Warriors will by far have more of a challenge if they wish to return once again to these finals, but if achieving a record breaking 73-9 record for the Warriors was achievable for them last year… Whose to say that this at all will be any different.
